bulletBent the rotor on your Tissue-Tearor (985-370)?  Don't despair!  Let us try to straighten it for you for little, if any, charge.   Print out a Return Form which tells where to send your injured TT.  Or, call us and we'll tell you how to straighten it yourself.  It's not that hard.

Broke the vial holding arms on your Mini-BeadBeater (3110BX, single tube model)?  If the arms on your MBB are brown, then we have tougher white ones for you!  We prefer to install new arms on your MBB in-house.  There is no labor charge.  Print out a Return Form which tells where to send the MBB.

bulletBeads?  Proper size, cleaning, etc? Go here.  Tired of hand loading beads into numerous vials or microplates?  Go here.

Tissue-Tearor (985-370) locked up or howling?  Most likely you'll need a new armature and bearing assembly (529672670, $52.00).  Install it yourself or we'll do it for you.  No labor charge.

bulletWhat reagents should I use for nucleic acid isolation using your equipment?  Use classical phenol/chloroform, guanidinium-SCN or one of many "kit" reagents.  For a list of commercial RNA/DNA purification kit makers go here.  As far as we know they all work.

How do I isolate intact intracelluar organelles with the Beadbeater?  Beadbeating is uniquely effective for this purpose.  Use the same size beads as suggested for cell disruption (see Beads).  However, to maximize the "intact-ness" of the organelles, homogenize for a shorter period of time to get about 70% maximum cell disruption.  A homogenization time study of 1, 2, 3, and 5 minutes would be instructive.
