Stainless steel beads can be cleaned and reused. Another more economical option is to used chrome steel beads. These beads are orders of magnitude cheaper than the stainless beads. They are used once and discarded.
With either stainless steel or chrome steel beads, common polypropylene microvials will break if 'dry' grinding or cyto-grinding is attempted. In this case, our stainless steel microvials with silicone rubber caps are recommended.
